The dreaded "work clothes"

I finally, after about 7 weeks, managed to find a job in the Gold Coast. It's a bit hectic around here because so many people come here just to work and there is the whole recession thing still happening... A friend of a friend passed my name along to a placement agency for food and beverage-- the hours are crazy, but the pay is great! It's been a while since I've done any kind of serving so I'm still a little nervous about some of the shifts!

On the the outfits:  The pub I previously worked at on my old campus had bright green tee's and serving at conferences was just a white shirt I already owned. Easy peasy. Here, not so much.

The first outfit is all black. Have I mentioned how hot it gets here? I can't image running around in black pants, shirt, shoes and socks in the dead heat... eeek! We will see how that goes. I also have purchased a pair of the most uncomfortable black shoes for the occasion. I actually think my feet are going to fall off after one 9 hour shift. Must go invest in new, comfy and most likely ugly, shoes. (It actually pains me to write this)

The second is the white ill fitting button up shirt (not a fan) and back to the rest of the black jazz.

Ok, it's not that bad. Prior to here I was working in an Optometrist office and I had to wear scrubs everyday. At the time I hated it, but they were pretty cool about wearing jewelry and whatever make up you wanted. I saved a ton of money on not having to buy a lot of "work clothes" but to be honest-- I love dressing up and shopping.

I'm pretty happy I secured a job... and now the search continues for one over the 4 months off in the summer time!
